Different types of hydraulic pumps
We supply external gear and internal gear pumps as well as gear ring and screw pumps.
What is a gear pump and for which hydraulic application do you need it?
A gear pump is used in many hydraulic systems because of the simple design and widespread availability. It has only few moving parts, works smoothly, and operates very well at pressures around 210 bar. In a gear pump, the displacement chambers are formed between the housing of the hydraulic pump and the rotating gear wheel (or gear wheels, depending on model or hydraulic pump design). Gear pumps are hydraulic pumps that are available in many different types.
Use external gear pumps as cost effective solution or internal gear pumps for high volumetric efficiency.
The most common gear pump in the hydraulic market is the external gear pump. It is popular because of the low weight and wide speed range at a relatively low cost. Internal gear pumps are used when high efficiency or low operating noise is of importance. A gear ring pump works with a stator and a rotor where planetary movement of the rotor results in flow. Screw pumps work with worm gears within the housing and possess an extremely low operating noise level.
