What is a tie rod cylinder and for which hydraulic applications do you need one?
Tie rod cylinders are used in machine tools, the automotive industry, plastics machinery, transfer lines and many other manufacturing devices. The main feature of the tie rod cylinder is its space-saving compact design, which makes it particularly suitable to use in medium to heavy industrial applications. We supply medium duty tie rod cylinders for pressures up to 70 bar and heavy duty hydraulic tie rod cylinders for pressures up to 210 bar.

Top and bottom of the tie rod cylinder, as well as the cylinder barrel, are connected together via four tie rods. Extended tie rods at the head or base of the cylinder may be used to mount the tie rod cylinder. It's the hydraulic cylinder with the widest variety of standardized options. Next to standard cylinder mounting styles, such as pivot and trunnion, threaded holes and subplate mounting options are also included in the wide mounting range of the tie rod cylinder.
