What is a roundline cylinder and for which hydraulic applications do you need one?
Mechanical engineering is the field of activity for heavy duty roundline hydraulic cylinders and mill type cylinders. They are used in mobile machinery, steel and iron works, civil engineering, presses, cranes, offshore applications and ship-building. The main feature of heavy duty hydraulic roundline cylinders is their robustness. Mill type hydraulic cylinders in particular are amongst the toughest of hydraulic cylinders with pressure ratings of up to 250 bar.

The top and bottom of a hydraulic mill type or roundline cylinder and the cylinder barrel are welded, screwed or tightly connected with bolts or retaining rings. These cylinders have been designed to deliver continuous high performance in many demanding applications. Compared to hydraulic tie rod cylinders, roundline cylinders have much fewer mounting possibilities, however, standard mounting, such as clevis, flange, trunnion and foot mounting, are possible.
